Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 19, 2026

1. Local-First Architecture & Data Collection

OpenHouseDX is fundamentally designed with a 'local-first' privacy architecture. By default, all data you collect via the application—including but not limited to lead information, property details, showing notes, and analytics—is stored exclusively on the device running the application.

We do not collect, transmit, or store this data on our servers unless you explicitly activate an optional Cloud Synchronization feature (e.g., iCloud, Google Drive, or OpenHouseDX Cloud). If you do not activate sync, your data remains 100% decentralized and under your physical control.

2. Compliance with CCPA, CPRA, PIPEDA, and GDPR

Because your data is stored locally, OpenHouseDX acts solely as a software provider, not a data processor or controller in the traditional cloud sense. You, the user, act as the data controller for any personal information you collect from visitors at open house events.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your collection of phone numbers, emails, and names complies with local privacy regulations (such as the CCPA in California, PIPEDA in Canada, or GDPR in Europe). You must provide appropriate notices to your visitors regarding how you will use their data.

3. Third-Party Services

OpenHouseDX may integrate with third-party APIs (such as mapping services or CRM exports). When you choose to export data to a third-party service, you are governed by their respective privacy policies. OpenHouseDX does not sell, rent, or monetize your local data.

Subscription & Payment Data

For payment processing, we utilize secure third-party platforms such as Apple StoreKit. We do not store or process your full credit card information locally on our servers. We collect anonymized receipt validation strings strictly to enforce premium subscription access and prevent fraud.
